The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime has been priced from $32,250 in the United States, putting it at a slight premium over the standard Prius available from $27,450.
Toyota has confirmed that three variants of the Prius Prime will be offered. The entry-level model is dubbed the SE and starts at $32,250 excluding delivery and handling fees. It comes standard with dark grey 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch infotainment display, and 6-way adjustable front seats. Other standard features include six USB-C ports, an Electronic Parking Brake, leather-trimmed and heated steering wheel, and rain-sensing wipers.
Those looking for some additional features can opt for the Prius Prime XSE priced from $35,600. It builds on the SE and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, an 8-way adjustable and heated driver’s seat, a Smart Key system, wireless smartphone charging, and front and rear parking assist with automatic braking. The XSE can also be optioned with a 12.3-inch infotainment display, a fixed glass roof, and a digital key.

Rounding out the Prius Prime family is the XSE Premium starting at $39,170. It leaves the factory equipped with an eight-speaker JBL sound system, 12.3-inch infotainment screen, heated and ventilated front seats, a power rear liftback, and a digital key. It can also be optioned with a Panoramic View Monitor, heated rear seats, a Digital Rearview Mirror, and an Advanced Park system. Toyota even offers the XSE Premium with a 185W solar roof that can charge the battery while the car is parked and power auxiliary functions while driving.
Powering all 2023 Toyota Prius Prime models is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 150 hp that works alongside a 161 hp electric motor and hybrid system, producing a combined 220 hp and 139 lb-ft (188 Nm) of torque. Toyota says the car can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.6 seconds. In addition to having more power than the old model, the all-electric driving range of the latest-generation Prius Prime has also been improved.
In fact, the Prius Prime SE can now travel 44 miles (70.8 km) on electric power alone compared to the 25 miles (40.2 km) of the old model. Meanwhile, the XSE and XSE Premium grades have an estimated EV range of 39 miles (62.7 km).
