Despite the troubling financial state of our world, wealthy people keep buying expensive supercars like the all-new Lamborghini Revuelto in large numbers. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of the Italian brand, revealed that there is already a waiting list for the electrified model, with enough orders to cover two years of production.
Winkelmann told CNBC that the global turmoil in financial markets and banking systems doesn’t seem to affect wealthy buyers which are Lamborghini’s target audience. More specifically, the CEO said: “The resilience of our customers, with everything that is happening in the last 24 months is incredible. We don’t see any slowdown in order intake for buying cars like ours”.

The CEO is happy about the positive reception of the Revuelto, attributing it to the fact that customers “recognize it’s a true Lamborghini” and ” there is no fear about having a hybridized car”. Based on that, he believes it will sell equal or more units than its predecessor. Note that the Aventador was the most successful series production flagship in the history of Lamborghini with 11,465 units sold between 2011 and 2022.
Demand for Lamborghini models is strong in the US, the automaker’s largest market, and more specifically California, Florida, Texas, and the Northeast. Buyers’ interest in the Sant ‘Agata company has also “exploded” in South Korea, with Central Europe and Australia going pretty well.
The Lamborghini Revuelto debuted last month with a plug-in hybrid V12 powertrain producing a combined 1,001 hp (747 kW / 1,015 PS), high-tech underpinnings, sharp styling, and a $600k price tag. The model which is the first of many PHEVs coming from Sant Agata will go into production in the second half of 2023. The first units of the Revuelto are expected to reach US dealerships in the fourth quarter of the year.
