The first photos of SAIC’s new Maxus Mifa 7 MPV have just been published online thanks to China’s patent office. While we don’t yet know how much it will cost nor precisely when it will go on sale in China and in overseas markets, there’s no denying that the minivan makes a bold statement.
The example pictured is finished in a simple shade of white and has quite an imposing front fascia thanks to the blacked-out headlights and LED light bar. It is also void of a traditional grille and instead has a small black grille across the lower portion of the bumper.

Elsewhere, you may notice that the Mifa 7 is rocking a set of silver roof rails and has black aero covers on the wheels. It also sports retractable door handles and black rocker panels. The design of the rear is very simple and dominated by a light bar and LED taillights that sit vertically.
This is not the first MPV from the Maxus brand. The car manufacturer has been selling the larger Mifa 9 since last year in select markets around the world. Whereas the Mifa 9 is 5,270 mm (207.5 inches) long, 2,000 mm (78.7 inches) wide, and sits 1,840 mm (72.4 inches) tall, the Mifa 7 is noticeably smaller. Indeed, it is 4,907 mm (193 inches) long, 1,885 mm (74.2 inches) wide, and 1,765 mm (69.5 inches) tall and has a 2,975 mm (117 inch) wheelbase. Local media reports that it offers six- and seven-seat configurations.
While certain technical specifications about the Mifa 7 MPV still need to be confirmed, it has been reported that the vehicle will be available with a choice of two different batteries: a ternary lithium battery and a lithium iron phosphate battery. The power will be sourced from a single electric motor with a rating of 241 hp.
