Does General Motors need another mid-engined or sleek two-seater that it could sell alongside the Chevy Corvette? Maybe, maybe not. However, that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t like to see such a new model come to life and these two renderings show two routes that GM could take in designing a sleek new coupe.
Both of these sketches were shared on the General Motors Design page on Instagram. The first is finished in silver and would perhaps be best suited to the Cadillac brand, given that its design somewhat resembles the famed Cadillac Cien Concept from 2002.

While the car has only been sketched from the side, we can see that it rocks a very short front overhang and has pronounced wheel arches. The windscreen also stretches very far forward and the car features a set of massive wheels. The shape of the doors indicates that they might open like gullwing doors while the rear window would provide onlookers an unimpeded view of the engine bay.
Then there’s the second design, also of a potential flagship Cadillac. It has been brought to life by designer Jacob Lovins and would be perfectly suited to the revitalized Cadillac brand as it looks to re-establish itself as ‘The Standard of the World.’
It has the shape of a front-engined model but could conceivably be powered by electric motors. Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying that it is bold. There looks to be an extremely long hood, large wheels, and two massive doors. We are also provided with a particularly good view of the car’s rear-end where you will notice angular LED taillights, a central element that protrudes outwards, and an angular bumper.
