Pit a superbike against a supercar and it is usually the two-wheeler which will run away with victory in the straight line. However, the Kawasaki Ninja H2 is no ordinary superbike and the Mclaren 720S is far from a typical supercar. So, which is quicker?
Motovlogger Do It With Dan took it upon himself to find out by pitting his modified Ninja H2 against a stock 720S.
For those that don’t know, the Ninja H2 is one of the most remarkable superbikes ever launched, thanks to its supercharged 998 cc inline-four engine. In standard road guise, it delivers 200 hp but this particular H2 has been adorned with numerous powertrain modifications and is said to deliver roughly 250 whp at high speeds with the ram intake effect.
By comparison, the McLaren 720S is arguably the straight-line benchmark in the supercar industry at the moment. Thanks to its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and low weight, it is almost as quick as the 903 hp hybrid P1 hypercar.
In a high-speed rolling drag then, the two are incredibly close and only separated by a few feet at the end of each run.
It’s worth pointing out, however, that these races were conducted on public roads and were very dangerous. Nonetheless, the video is still worth watching.
