Online configurators have revolutionized the process of speccing your new car. Instead of looking at handful of paint swatches in a brochure and maybe getting the chance to see one or two of those colors on dealer demonstrators, we can click to try different color and wheel combos on rendered versions of ‘our’ cars.
But it can still be a awkward trying to cycle between the favorites on our shortlist. Sure, you can open dozens of separate tabs on your computer each showing a different configuration, but you’re going to need a big screen to see them all. And good luck if you’re trying to whittle your choices down using your smartphone.
Which is why we love this GIF from Ford that cycles through all 12 of the color options available for the new 2024 Mustang. It doesn’t show every color in every trim and body style – some are GTs or Dark Horse editions, some are not; some are convertibles, some are coupes. But it’s a heap more fun than looking at a half a dozen squares of paint and being left to imagine the rest.

For those of who want to chew over the options a little more slowly, Ford has also put all 12 colors together in a grid, which you can see above, and if you scroll down to the foot of the pages you’ll find single images of 12 cars representing each color.
Ford opened up the 2024 Mustang’s online configurator on April 17th to coincide with the 59th anniversary of the original 1964 Mustang being unveiled. The least expensive version of Ford’s newest pony car is the four-cylinder Ecoboost Fastback, which starts at $30,920, while the most affordable Convertible is the $41,945 EcoBoost Premium. Alternatively, you can save $450 over the four-pot ragtop and gain a ton of horses by picking up the base 480 hp (487 PS) V8-powered GT, or splash out $51,515 on a GT Premium Convertible if you’re determined to catch some rays while you’re enjoying your burble. Top of the tree – for now, at least – is the 500 hp (507 PS) Dark Horse Fastback, which weighs in at $61,865 and features color-shifting Blue Ember paint.
