Following hot on the heels of last week’s EQS Manufaktur Signature Edition, Mercedes has introduced the new EQS 580 4MATIC City Edition.

Available exclusively in Southern California, the LA-focused EQS City Edition is being billed as a “curated package” that includes “charging features, micro-mobility, and a connection to the local community.”

While the car stretches the definition of special, it comes with a ChargePoint Home Flex charger as well as up to $1,000 for home installation through Qmerit. Customers will also receive a $250 credit to ChargePoint public chargers as well as access to a Qmerit Concierge, who can assist the customer throughout the charger installation process.

Tech Bros Rejoice! The Mercedes EQS City Edition Comes With A Scooter Subscription

Since nothing says luxury like scooters, the EQS City Edition comes with a “one-year all-access subscription” to a Unagi Model One Voyager electric scooter that has 25 miles (40 km) of range. That’s right, Mercedes doesn’t even give you a scooter, they simply throw in what amounts to a one-year rental. That’s insane as the scooter costs $1,190 to buy, but $828 to rent for a year.

On the equipment side of things, the car has City Edition badging, a dashcam, and an energizing air control plus system that can remove up to 99% of particulate pollution to create an interior environment “similar to an operating room.” Mercedes will also make a donation to Safe Kids California for each City Edition sold.

Two different ‘styles’ will be available and the first features a Manufaktur Diamond White Metallic exterior as well as a Macchiato Beige and Space Grey leather interior. If that doesn’t electrify your senses, you can get a Twilight Blue Metallic exterior that comes paired with Neva Grey and Sable Brown leather. Regardless of which combination you choose, the cars come with AMG wheels as well as natural grain yacht-design walnut wood trim.

Production will be limited to 150 units and each should have a 108.4 kWh battery pack that powers a dual motor all-wheel drive system developing a combined output of 516 hp (385 kW / 523 PS) and 631 lb-ft (855 Nm) of torque. This enables the standard model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds and travel 340 miles (547 km) on a single charge.

Mercedes didn’t mention pricing, but the standard EQS 580 4MATIC starts at $125,950 and has a destination fee of $1,150. That suggests the special edition won’t be cheap, but Mercedes-Benz USA’s Vice President of Sales and Product Management said “This first of its kind vehicle brings convenience, luxury and enhanced performance that our customers have come to know and love as we continue our journey to an all-electric future.” Senol Bayrak added, “This comprehensive bundle offers customers the ability to charge with ease at home and on the road and provides enhanced safety for the local community through key data insights and continued collaboration with regional chapters of Safe Kids Worldwide.”
