Ford has already cut Mach-E prices once this year in response to Tesla discounts and today history repeated itself. The electric Mustang is now up to $4,000 cheaper than before as the suits at Dearborn attempt to keep pace with Model Y demand and Elon Musk’s determination to prioritize volume over profit.
The latest price reductions mean the entry level RWD Standard Range Mach-E starts at $42,995 (down $3,000), but the biggest savings to be made are on the Premium Standard Range models and the Mach-E GT, which drop by $4,000. Those reductions bring the price of a Premium RWD down to $46,995, the AWD version of the same to $49,995, and reduce the cost of a GT from $63,995 to $59,995.
Prices for the Nite Pony Package ($800) and the Extended Range battery for the Premium models ($7,000) are unchanged, but the Performance package on the GT is reduced by $1,000 to $5,000. Three years use of the BlueCruise autonomous system actually goes up by $200 to $2,100, though on the plus side, BlueCruise, which can now change lanes automatically when you tap the turn signal, is available to try free for 90 days because the hardware is built into every Mach-E regardless of how it is optioned.

Standard Range Mach-Es get Ford‘s new lithium phosphate (LFP) battery that appears to be better in almost every respect compared with the battery it replaces. EPA-rated electric driving range figures for the revised Standard Range cars grow by 3 miles (5 km) to 250 miles (402 km) for the RWD cars and by 2 miles (3 km) to 226 miles (364 km) for the AWD models.
The new battery also adds 45 hp (46 PS) to the AWD model’s power rating, taking output to 311 hp (315 PS), allows Standard Range Mustangs to charge to 100 percent more often at home without suffering battery degradation and cuts the DC fast charge 10-80 percent times by 5 minutes to 33 minutes.
