Reigning 2016 F1 champion Nico Rosberg got behind the wheel of a Mercedes F1 W05 at Goodwood, giving the crowd a little something to cheer about.

Rosberg left everyone wanting more ever since his shocking announcement last year that he would be retiring from Formula 1 so that he could spend more time with his family and pursue other activities.

Doing donuts certainly counts as a fun activity, and watching the W05 Hybrid at work is also a nice sighting for Formula 1 fans. This car, after all, won the 2014 F1 constructors championship quite easily.

You’ll also notice that the W05 is wearing rain tires (full on wet tires, not inters), which is probably a safety precaution since there’s a lot of grass at Goodwood and Nico didn’t exactly keep the Mercedes on the tarmac at all times.

Unlike in his Formula 1 days, Rosberg also didn’t fear flat-spotting his tires, locking them up repeatedly just so the crowd could get a whiff of smoke coming from one of the fastest automobiles in the world.
