The Lucid Air has received a lot of praise since it reached the hands of customers but the carmaker continues to deal with production and logistics issues meaning anyone who places an order today, will likely have to wait a long time to take delivery. There is an alternative solution for those too impatient to wait, however.
What you’re looking at is a 2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring that is up for auction in Florida thanks to Copart. Unfortunately, it has been involved in a crash that has resulted in significant damage across the rear but it does have a rebuildable salvage title meaning it can be repaired and returned to the roads.

All it takes is a quick look at the provided images of the Lucid to realize that the driver’s side half of the rear end has taken quite a substantial hit. It is hard to say whether the Lucid hit something or if something ran into it but whatever the case may be, it is in desperate need of a new rear bumper, rear quarter panel, taillight, trunklid, and fender liner.
It is unclear if any damage has been done to the rear crash structure of the car but we suspect it may look as good as new, meaning repairing the EV could be pretty easy. Of course, actually sourcing replacement parts from Lucid is easier said to done.
The Copart listing notes that the car still runs and drives and was damaged with just 3,191 miles (5,135 km) under its belt. With the aforementioned parts replaced, any new owner could get behind the wheel of the state-of-the-art EV for just a fraction of its MSRP.
