The Ford Transit is one of the most popular LCVs in the UK so no wonder why so many of them can be found in the used market. A beat-up example got a pretty unique transformation, including a monster truck chassis, gigantic wheels, and a V8 engine.

The van is listed on eBay as a work-in-progress since it needs a lot of work before getting back on the road. To be precise, this kind of vehicle would be challenging to drive on public roads due to its massive size, but if it gets completed it could become unstoppable in any kind of rough terrain. The monster van measures 11 ft (3,353 mm) tall and 8 ft (2,438 mm) wide, making the Chevrolet Suburban that is parked nearby look tiny in comparison.

V8-Powered Ford Transit Monster Van Is Recycling Done Right

The body of the LCV has been mounted on a ladder-frame chassis with leaf suspension and a set of massive tires. The underpinnings and the bodywork appear to be rusty in several spots, and the vehicle needs a good wash before getting repainted. However, a monster van isn’t designed to win beauty contests.

The details about the technical specifications are a bit shady, as the current owner isn’t the one who started the build. The old but rebuilt 6.5-liter V8 powertrain is likely sourced from an Oldsmobile and is mated to an automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. In order for the van to become drivable, the prop shaft, radiator hoses, brake pipes, and steering column need to be repaired, meaning that a skilled mechanic will be required.

The unique project vehicle is located in Stratford, UK and the asking price is £5,000 ($6,213). It remains to be seen if a brave buyer will step in to finish the job.
