Just a couple of months after Dodge’s ‘Last Call’ run of Challenger and Charger models grew to Europe with the local launch of the Challenger Shakedown, the limited-edition series has expanded with the arrival of the Challenger Black Ghost on the Old Continent.
In designing the car, Dodge took inspiration from the 1970 Dodge Challenger RT SE owned by Godfrey Qualls. This car made a name for itself in the underground racing scene of Detroit and a handful of distinctive elements distinguish the modern-day interpretation from the other existing Challenger models.
For starters, the new Challenger Black Ghost is painted black and incorporates a black gator skin roof vinyl. It also comes fitted as standard with 20×11-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels, has black Mopar hood pins, and is fitted with black six-piston Brembo brakes. Dodge has also equipped the model with new fender and spoiler badges, a script grille, and a Midnight Metallic SRT badge.

A handful of tweaks have also been made in the cabin. These include an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with a red SRT logo, carbon fiber bezels, a Dynamic suede headliner, Alcantara/Laguna leather seats, and new door bolsters.
Adding to the appeal of the Challenger Black Ghost is the fact that it is based around the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. That means it features a boosted 6.2-liter supercharged V8 churning out 797 hp and 707 lb-ft (959 Nm) of torque, fed through an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
Dodge is building just 300 examples of the Challenger Black Ghost but it is not yet known how many of them will be exported to Europe. It is also unclear how much European customers will have to cough up to buy one.
