The first-generation Tesla Roadster was a hugely important vehicle for the world’s most valuable car manufacturer and now, some low-mileage examples are fetching a considerable amount of money. This is one of them.
Making this Roadster special is the fact that it is number 74 of the first 100 units that were manufactured and sold as the Signature One Hundred Edition. It is finished in a lovely color known as Signature Green and has been driven just 4,500 miles (~7,242 km)since it was first built. It is currently up for auction through Bring a Trailer and could conceivably sell for as much as $200,000. If it does, the seller could use that money to buy the long-awaited, second-generation Roadster.

The Bring a Trailer listing notes that the car was purchased by the seller in 2010 and is being sold with three keys, a spare hardtop, a Tesla-branded car cover, a tool kit, wall charger, and has a clean Carfax report and a clean California title. It continues to sit on the original forged 16-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 tires from 2008 that desperately need to be replaced.
A look inside the cabin of the Tesla-based model reveals heated bucket seats clad in tan leather upholstery. The interior looks to have been well maintained over the past 15 years but the seller notes there are some small areas of delaminating leather and that the air conditioning system needs to be recharged.
Found beneath the bodywork of the first-generation Roadster is a 53 kWh battery pack that drives a single electric motor with 248 hp and 200 lb-ft (271 Nm) of torque. Mated to the motor is a Borg-Warner single-speed transmission that drives the rear wheels.
