After years of simply getting by, Alfa Romeo is beginning a new chapter flush with important products. The Tonale started the company’s latest journey and now the automaker has confirmed plans to introduce a “Sport Urban Vehicle” in the first half of 2024.

Alfa Romeo is keeping details under wraps, but said the model is internally known as “Kid” and will be “the little one.” This suggests the crossover will be smaller than the Tonale, which starts at $42,995 and forms the basis for the nearly identical Dodge Hornet.

The crossover promises to be a “game changer” that “intends to rewrite the rules for the segment.” It will also be Alfa Romeo’s first electric vehicle and have a “sporty DNA.”

That’s not much to go on, but Alfa Romeo is looking for help naming the model. It remains unclear how serious the ask for help is, but the company confirmed the model won’t be called the “Brenner” as some rumors have suggested.

However, they might as well call it Sebring as the crossover is rumored to be a revamped version of the Jeep Avenger. While that name seems doubtful, if Jeep can borrow a Dodge name maybe Alfa Romeo can steal from the Chrysler cookie jar and make the nameplates brother and sister once again.
