The redesigned Renault Master has moved south for the summer as the van has been spied undergoing hot weather testing.
Set to battle the Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter, the Master is heavily disguised but adopts slimmer headlights with J-shaped daytime running lights. We can also see what appears to be a smaller grille and a repositioned Renault badge.
Additional details are hard to make out, but we can see a new hood and what looks like a more curvaceous bumper. Further back, there are larger side mirrors and less pronounced wheel arches. We can also see a sculpted accent on the side of the roof as well as an angular flourish for the rear side glass, even though this prototype lacks it.

There isn’t much to see out back, but the ‘high roof’ has been better integrated into the overall design of the van and there’s a new high-mounted third brake light. Other than that, there are vertical taillights and what appear to be taller doors.
That being said, Renault will offer an assortment of different configurations. We’ll learn more closer to launch, but we can expect multiple roof and wheelbase combinations as well as a pickup variant.
Engine options remain unconfirmed, but we can expect diesels as well as a fully electric E-Tech variant. The latter could potentially feature an improved powertrain as the current 52 kWh battery doesn’t impress nor does its 76 hp (57 kW / 78 PS) electric motor or 126 mile (203 km) range. There have also been rumors about a hydrogen variant, although nothing is set in stone at this point.
