The launch of the much-anticipated Chevrolet Blazer EV SS has been pushed back until at least the spring of 2024 for unknown reasons.
It’s been 12 long months since the Blazer EV SS was first showcased to the world and at the time, The General said it would hit the market at some time in late 2023, without giving a specific date. However, Chevrolet’s website has just been updated and the page shows that while the regular Blazer EV is scheduled to land in the summer of 2023, the SS won’t be available until the spring of 2024.
That’s quite a shame as the Blazer EV SS has all the right ingredients to be an excellent rival to the Tesla Model Y as well as Korean alternatives like the Kia EV6 GT and the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq N.

When the new Chevy does hit the market, it will be available for $65,995 and customers will get quite a lot of performance for their money. Indeed, the Blazer EV SS rocks a pair of electric motors that combine to deliver 557 hp and 648 lb-ft (878 Nm) of torque. With the high-performance Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode enabled, GM says the SUV will be able to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than four seconds, more than quick enough for those that will end up buying it.
The Blazer EV SS had an estimated rate of 290 miles (467 km) as of its online debut last year, but we’ll wait to see if that changes when EPA figures are released closer to its launch next year. It supports DC fast charging of up to 190 kW and comes standard with a set of large 22-inch wheels, a unique two-tone exterior finish, a front splitter, and Brembo brakes up front.
