The Koenigsegg Regera costs almost $2 million, so it needs to be pretty darn impressive to attract enthusiasts with deep pockets.

With a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 paired to three electric motors, which pump out a combined output of over 1,500hp and 2,000Nm (1,475lb-ft) of torque, it definitely has the performance box ticked – and then some…

Officially, it needs only 2.7 seconds for the 0 to 100km/h (0-62mph) acceleration, and flat out, it will do 410km/h (255mph). Koenigsegg has announced that the Regera will be a limited run of only 80 units, all of which have been sold since last summer.

Even though it’s not new, it’s still displayed in various automotive events across the globe. It was taken to the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, last month, and it currently sits under the spotlight at the New York Auto Show, where visitors will have the chance to see it until April 8.

A megacar, as Koenigsegg has dubbed the Regera, surely needs a megakey, too. The one in the example on display at NYC is decorated with 18K pink gold and diamonds.
