Maserati is waving goodbye to its V8 engine with a pair of special edition models. The new Ghibli 334 Ultima and the Levante V8 Ultima will be the final Maserati models ever fitted with a V8 engine, with the company to officially reveal them at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.

Although certain details are still under wraps, Maserati says that the special edition Ghibli’s name is a reference to its top speed. This means that the upcoming Ghibli 334 Ultima will be able to hit 207.5 mph (334 km/h flat out, making it the fastest production sedan with a combustion engine in the world, at least according to Maserati. The twin-turbo V8 engine is rated at 564 hp (420 kW/572 PS).

That’s an increase of 5 mph (8 km/h) over the standard Ghibli Trofeo, and Maserati attributes the increase to aero upgrades like a carbon fiber spoiler, as well as 21-inch Orione alloy wheels wrapped in new rubber. Autocar reports that the upgrades also allow the Ghibli 334 V8 Ultima to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the standard V8 model.

The special Ghibli pictured above is finished in the special Scià di Persia over a tan leather interior, a configuration referencing the original “Shah of Persia” 5000 GT.

The Maserati Levante on the other hand will also bid farewell to the engine with the also special V8 Ultima edition. It will get the same 564 hp (420 kW/572 PS) engine as the Ghibli and will benefit from a similar appearance package that includes red lettering over the triple side air vents.

Both models will be unveiled at Goodwood, where they will also be driven up the event’s legendary hill climb course. Joining them will be a special one-off version of the GranTurismo that is covered in a variety of paint finishes that Maserati calls the “Prisma” edition. The automaker describes the car as a “proud expression of this car’s past and of the brand’s ability to go further.”

Maserati will also bring the MC20 Cielo and the GranTurismo Folgore to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which starts on July 13 and runs until July 16.
