Fisker is working on a limited edition version of the Ocean SUV for the Indian market but will only build 100 examples of them.
The special model will be based on the Fisker Ocean Extreme and dubbed the Vigyan. The first deliveries are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of this year but at this stage, it is not known what will distinguish the Indian variant from the Ocean Extreme sold in other markets.
Speaking with Reuters, Henrik Fisker said that the company should complete the final checks on the Indian model by the end of September and that its price will be aligned with the European market. That means it should be priced at around 6.45 million Indian rupees, roughly the equivalent of €69,950 ($78,645), its starting price in Germany.

Fisker’s ambitions in India go far beyond selling 100 limited edition versions of the Ocean Extreme. In fact, the electric start-up plans to ultimately start building vehicles in India as it wants to gain a first-mover advantage in the country’s shift to electric vehicles. As it stands, EVs make up just 1% of India’s 3 million annual car sales, but the government wants this share to increase to 30% by 2030.
While speaking with Reuters last year, Henrik Fisker acknowledged that importing vehicles to India is “very expensive” given the tariffs they are hit with. As such, Fisker would like to build its forthcoming five-seat PEAR model in India but likely won’t do so before 2026.
“Ultimately, if you want to have somewhat of a larger volume in India, you almost have to start building a vehicle here or at least do some assembly,” Fisker said. “If we can get that vehicle just below $20,000 locally in India, that would be ideal. Then I think we’ll get to a certain volume and market share.”
