We’ve known for some time that Fisker will follow up its all-electric SUVs with an all-electric pickup truck. Now, more details about the vehicle are coming into focus, including that it will have very sporty aspirations.

The automaker is currently in the process of launching its first SUV, the Ocean, which will be followed by the Pear, a compact SUV, and the Ronin, a sporty, luxurious sedan. Meanwhile, the pickup is still known under its code name, the “Alaska program.”

Like the Ronin, it will be luxurious and athletic, according to CEO Henrik Fisker. He told Auto Express that the Alaska will be like “if Ferrari were to do a pickup.” However, unlike any current vehicle sold by the Italian supercar manufacturer, it will also be all-electric.

The CEO added that, despite the performance aspirations of the Alaska, it will have proper pickup proportions, meaning adequate ride height, ground clearance, and stance, albeit with a “really sporty look.”

While those design cues don’t necessarily suggest track performance, Ford (among others) has proven that a big, tall truck can still look sporty with off-road vehicles like the Ranger Raptor and the F-150 Raptor R.

Like Fisker’s other vehicles, the Alaska will also have “really clever” features to make it more practical for owners. Although he didn’t go into what those would be, he has previously said that each of his company’s vehicles will have “at least four unique features,” and that the Alaska will have some that have “never been done on a pickup truck before.”

Like the Fisker Ocean, the Alaska pickup will be able to carry long loads with a pass-through window, and may be able to fold its rear seats down to make more room in the bed—a bit like the Chevrolet Avalanche.

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait to find out what else Fisker has planned for the truck. The automaker has not yet announced when it will reveal what it has been working on as part of the Alaska program, but more information is expected soon.
