The long-awaited Tesla Cybertruck is slowly but surely progressing through its development schedule and a new prototype has been filmed on the move, making quite the impression on the road and getting Tesla enthusiasts particularly excited.

This Cybertruck was snapped on the 280 in California by a member of the Cybertruck Owners Club forum and it’s definitely a head-turner. We’ve seen plenty of Cybertruck prototypes in recent months but this example stands out because the exterior has been clad in a dark camouflage wrap.

Tesla doesn’t usually apply camouflage wraps to its prototypes so it’s unclear exactly why it has done so with the Cybertruck. Whatever the reason, we think a wrap like this makes the Cybertruck look more interesting than the exposed stainless steel panels that it will leave the factory with. The wrap also manages to make the exterior design of the electric truck not quite as offensive and in-your-face, which isn’t something we thought we would ever say.

Dark Camo Wrap Could Be Perfect For The Tesla Cybertruck

Back in 2020, Tesla chief executive Elon Musk said that while paint options would not be offered for the Cybertruck, customers could wrap them “in any color or pattern.” That did lead some to believe Tesla itself would offer wrap options for the Cybertruck but given that Musk said “you will be able to wrap it,” he was likely referring to individual owners. Fortunately for those expecting to take delivery of a Cybertruck that don’t like the naked stainless steel finish, a number of aftermarket wrap companies have already been established in the U.S. that promise to focus on Cybertruck wraps.

Tesla recently confirmed that the Cybertruck will be slightly less than 19 feet long and come standard with a 6+ foot bed. It still remains a mystery if the technical specifications will remain the same as they were when the truck was first presented in November 2019 or if Tesla has gone back to the drawing board to tweak the motor and battery options. Pricing has not been announced.
