The Ferrari F40 is known to be quite an unruly beast to drive and had the driver of this particular F40 been a little less fortunate, things could have gone very, very badly.
This clip has been doing the rounds on social media and was filmed at the recent Formula Drift event in Seattle. The F40 is wilder than most given that it is painted in a bright shade of pink and is also rocking a set of gold-colored wheels. We’re sure some people think this specific color on an F40 should be punishable as a crime and it appears the owner’s driving also leaves a little to be desired.

The short video shows the F40 briefly accelerating along a paved area within the Formula Drift event before the driver suddenly hits the brakes, locking them up, and sending the F40 into a fence. Apparently, the car’s throttle got stuck and this is why the driver briefly lost control of it and was unable to bring it to a stop before it hit the fence.
@garnetsgti Could’ve been worse all things considered. The throttle got stuck and the car has no ABS #fyp #fdsea #formuladrift #f40 #ferrari #crash ♬ Kerosene – Crystal Castles
While it’s hard to say for certain if the car’s throttle did indeed get stuck from this video, the engine can be heard hitting its redline while the brakes are locked up and it is skidding to a stop. If it’s not a sticky throttle to blame then it’s possible that the driver may have accidentally hit both the brake and throttle at the same time.
Whatever the case may be, it’s fortunate that the Ferrari only hit a fence rather than a solid object like a concrete wall. The owner may still struggle to sleep at night, however, as we’re sure the car’s front end has been left with some scratches that will need to be repaired.
