Earlier this month, Maserati revealed its most powerful track car to date, the MCXtrema. Now, as part of the events surrounding Monterey Car Week, the track-only car has finally been presented in the flesh to prospective customers.

With that, Maserati is giving us a better idea of what the MCXtrema will look like from the outside with new photos, and has revealed its interior. Unsurprisingly, the car is all business inside and out.

“Maserati MCXtrema was created with the aim of offering an incredibly exclusive product that can set a new paradigm for our track cars,” said Davide Grasso, Maserati’s CEO. “The project is dedicated to a selected clientele who are particularly attentive to distinctive details, ranging from the most refined and innovative design to exceptional performance.”

Indeed, the automaker plans to produce just 62 examples of this non-road-legal track toy. Its select few owners will be treated to an incredibly powerful drivetrain. Propelled by the same twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine as the MC20, it has been tuned to make 730 hp (544 kW / 740 PS) in the MCXtrema, which it sends to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox.

The MCXtrema tips the scales at just 2,756 lbs (1,250 kg) thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber and, as these new photos reveal, a stripped-back, entirely driver-obsessed interior. With ranks of buttons on either side, the pilot is well and truly cocooned within the cockpit. A minimalistic steering wheel with an F1-style screen in the center shows the driver everything they need to see while on track.

With track-focused suspension tuning, Brembo CCMR brakes, and an extreme aerodynamics package that includes both a rear wing and a central stabilizer, the MCXtrema is sure to impress its owners when they finally take it out on track.

“MCXtrema embodies the sporting spirit typical of Maserati’s DNA,” said Grasso. It is “a declaration of a new pathway for our brand, devoted to superlative manufacturing and able to stand out in the world of luxury engine production with uncompromising performance.”
