One percenters who will settle for nothing but the absolute best in their sim-racing setup can finally rest easy. Porsche just dropped a real GT3 Cup steering wheel that’s outfitted specifically for gaming use. It’s only making 150 of them so be sure to wire Porsche all of its £7,950.00 ($10,025 USD) price tag as quickly as possible.
High-end sim-racing rigs and accessories are nothing new. Just over the last year, we’ve seen a complete Ford GT cockpit rig, Pagani Huayra pedals, and even an F1 RB18 racing simulator rig that costs $120,000. This isn’t even the first Porsche-branded gaming accessory or the first realistic racing wheel just for gaming in 2023.
What makes this particular accessory so special is its rarity and provenance. According to Porsche, this gaming wheel is “an original 911 GT3 Cup steering wheel, fully ergonomically optimized and developed with Porsche engineers and GT drivers.” Essentially, it’s the closest thing that many folks could ever get to feeling what it’s like to be in a real 911 GT3 Cup car.

Porsche even details exactly what the entire product is made of including 36 percent carbon fiber, 22 percent polyurethane, 19 percent aluminum alloys, and 2 percent of special metals. The automaker promises that the extreme rigidity of the wheel enables it to provide highly realistic vibrations that match the bumps and curbs one might experience in-game.
It comes with a USB port that supports plug-and-play compatibility with most PC sim-racing games. The twelve buttons on the front and the pair on the back work just the same way that they do in a real GT3 Cup car. The forward-facing keys are backlit and feature adjustable brightness settings. Evidently, the wheel will fit with most rigs and the black satin support stand you see in the photos is just that, a stand, not a part of the rig itself.
That stand even comes with a limited-edition plaque. Porsche says it’ll make 150 units in total through the end of the year and then this “collector’s item” will end production. For those with the cash to splash they might as well just buy two, one to play with and one to keep on a shelf.
