The Düsseldorf Caravan Show is underway and Citroen has used the event to unveil the Type Holidays concept.

Based on the SpaceTourer, the one-off camper van draws inspiration from the iconic Type H and features a “neo-retro” body with ribbed accents as well as an old school grille. They’re joined by circular headlights and steel wheels.

Despite the retro-inspired styling, the concept is thoroughly modern as it features two sliding doors and a pop-up roof that allows occupants to easily stand inside the van. The top section also houses a bed, which can accommodate two people.

Speaking of sleeping quarters, the concept has a second-row bench that can be transformed into a two-person bed. The seat can also be removed if you’re looking for more interior room.

Other highlights include swiveling front seats, a folding table, and wood cabinets. The van has also been equipped with a Webasto heating system as well as a kitchenette that includes a fridge, sink, and cooking area.

While the Type Holidays concept won’t be going into production, Citroen said it previews their intention to “bolster its presence in the converted camper van market.” As part of this effort, they’ll offer a Holidays range or trim.

Specifics are lacking, but the company implied the concept’s interior will eventually be found on road-going models. However, we’ll learn more later this year.
