The third generation E34 BMW 5-Series, available initially as a Sedan, and later on as an Estate (Touring), is known for offering high levels of comfort, reliability and safety.

While there’s nothing BMW engineers could have done to help this E34 keep its rear end, some people might look at this crash and simply see a quick and, sure enough, inadvertent way of turning a 4-door E34 into a sort of liftback 5-Series Compact.

The person who owns this white 5-Series saloon is from Estonia and his car, dubbed ‘Surematu’ (Immortal), was designed specifically for drifting, although we reckon, not without a trunk.

The driver of the car was also injured in the crash, hurting his head as well as his left shoulder, though thankfully the medics got to him quickly, and he even seemed to be in good spirits while talking about the crash.

As for the car that performed the “surgery”, it was a matte black E90 3-Series, whose driver was also checked out by emergency services on location. In the end, the two drifters involved in the crash hugged it out, which is always nice to see, rather than having them get into a heated argument, or worse.
