Renault announced its lineup for the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, with the absolute highlight being the fully electric Scenic E-Tech. The fifth generation of the family hauler will debut on September 4, followed by the Grand Kangoo minivan on September 5.
The 2024 Renault Scenic E-Tech appeared in a dark teaser, revealing its face featuring split LED headlights and a covered grille with a special pattern. We have already seen the Scenic E-Tech with minimum camouflage so the teaser doesn’t take us by surprise. The model will deviate from the minivan silhouettes of its predecessors, adopting a more modern crossover stance with a length of 4,490 mm (176.8 inches) allowing for a spacious five-seater cabin.

Renault says that the Scenic E-Tech will be “the first production car to embody the brand’s new sustainable development strategy: on environment, safety and inclusion”. Reading between the lines we expect extensive use of sustainable materials for the interior upholstery, and the latest safety technology from the Renault Group.
The Scenic E-Tech is expected to ride on the CMF-EV architecture, positioning itself above the smaller Megane E-Tech in Renault’s EV lineup. Unlike the latter which is an FWD-only proposal, the Scenic E-Tech will reportedly be offered with a dual electric motor AWD setup producing a combined 389 hp (290 kW / 394 PS) as in the closely related Nissan Ariya.
As for the Grand Kangoo, it is the long-wheelbase version of the Kangoo minivan, likely coming with a three-row, seven-seater layout and a generously sized boot. The model will be similar to the Renault Hippie Caviar Motel Concept from last year, albeit with a passenger-focused cabin and a combustion engine under the bonnet – at least until the fully electric “E-Tech” version arrives.
Besides the IAA Summit in Munich Messe, the Scenic E-Tech, Rafale, Espace, and Austral will be showcased in Reanut’s “electro pop rnlt” booth at the IAA Open Space in Odeonsplatz.
