Hot on the heels of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale premiering online, the car manufacturer has brought the stunning creation the Monza circuit ahead of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
Alfa Romeo decided to bring the new-age 33 Stradale to Monza for a very specific reason. On August 31, 1967, the original 33 Stradale made its debut at the same racetrack and now exactly 56 years later, the new car has been shown to the world. Alfa Romeo has marked the occasion by equipping its F1 cars with a special livery for the Italian Grand Prix. The team’s drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, also posed with the car.
The livery adorning the F1 cars includes the colors of the Italian flag, bright gold elements on the wheel covers, gold script throughout, and large Quadrifoglio logos. The underside of the rear wing also reads ’33 Stradale.’

Alfa Romeo is building just 33 examples of the new 33 Stradale. It will be produced in both all-electric and combustion-powered guises but it remains to be seen how many of each will be made. What we do know is that the combustion model has the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 as the MC20 with 620 hp. Meanwhile, the electric version is said to be good for 750 hp and a range of 280 miles (450 km) on the WLTP cycle. Both versions will power through to a 206 mph (331 km/h) top speed and hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds.
Underpinning the vehicle is a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and includes double-arm active suspension incorporating a nose lift.
Of course, it is the design of the 33 Stradale that makes it stand out. Its exterior is heavily inspired by the original but beautifully brings it into the modern age with polycarbonate panels, LED lights, and a stunning interior combining modern technologies with retro touches.
