Nissan has released pricing details for the 2024 Z sports car lineup, including the new Nismo, revealing that the much-anticipated halo model’s extra power and aerodynamic hardware carry a significant premium.
As suggested by information leaked earlier this month, the Nismo costs $66,085 factoring in the unavoidable $1,095 for destination and delivery. That makes it more than $12k pricier than the Z Performance ($53,305) and almost $23k more expensive than the entry-level Z Sport ($43,305). The Nismo is new for 2024, but the Sport and Performance both cost $1,220 more than they did in 2023.
You might argue that the Nismo looks poor value when it only offers a modest 20 hp (20 PS) and 34 lb-ft (46 Nm) lift over the same basic twin-turbo V6 in the stock Nissan Z, which already makes 400 hp (406 PS) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque. But the Nismo has some other tricks up its sleeve, many of which are both functional and improve the looks.

There are new bumpers with canards at the front corner, new sills, a re-profiled rear bumper, and a bigger, three-piece rear spoiler, all of which Nissan says help provide positive downforce, rather than just reducing lift, as most body kits on road cars do. You also get wider Rays wheels coated in Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 tires, stiffer bushes, bigger anti-roll bars, and more aggressive springs and dampers.
A red pinstripe on the lower body helps grab the attention of onlookers not close enough to spot the Nismo badges on the exterior or Recaro seats. Still, if really want to swivel heads you can order the flagship Z in the U.S. with Nismo dual racing stripes for $465. That option doesn’t seem to be available in Canada, where the Nismo costs $78,093 including shipping, versus $53,093 for the base Z Sport.
Still, there’s one more major reason why you may opt for a Z Sport or Performance over a Nismo, and it’s got nothing to do with saving money. While the two carryover models are available with a choice of six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmissions, the Nismo only comes as an auto.
