It got off to a roaring start in its first year, and now in its second, the 2024 Toyota GR Corolla is back with some minor updates, plus a new trim. For the new model year, buyers will be able to choose from the familiar Core or Circuit Edition grades, as well as the new Premium grade, which is designed to add a little luxury to the hot hatch.
“The response to the GR Corolla has been incredible,” said Mike Tripp, Vice President of Toyota Vehicle Marketing and Communications. “This model has captured a passion for driving, and by adding the Premium Grade with standard high-performance components and an upgraded interior, we can give fans even more ways to enjoy this rowdy hot hatch.”
Offered at a starting price of $39,920, the new Premium trim gives owners a slightly cushier place to sit with heated Brin Naub suede-trimmed seats with GR logos, a heated steering wheel, an eight-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, front and rear parking sensors, and it is available in Heavy Metal, Ice Cap, Black and Supersonic red paint colors.

However, the GR Corolla remains focused on performance, so the Premium trim also comes with brake cooling ducts, and standard front and rear limited-slip Torsen differentials to help distribute power from side to side during cornering.

By contrast, the LSDs are only available to customers who add the Performance Package to the Core trim, which starts at $36,100, which is $200 more than it did last. It also gets fabric seats, GR-Four stamped side rockers, a sport-tuned suspension, and 18-inch 15-spoke cast alloy wheels equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. It will be offered in Ice Cap, Black, and Supersonic Red for 2024.
Refreshed Circuit Edition for 2024
Finally, the GR Corolla Circuit Edition gets everything from the Premium Grade, plus a forged carbon fiber roof, a bulging hood with gloss black air vents, black side rocker graphics, and a gloss black high-mounted rear spoiler. It also gets a leather-wrapped shift knob with a blue stripe and carbon fiber accents inside.
New for 2024, the GR Corolla Circuit Edition gets standard 18-inch black 10-spoke forged alloy BBS wheels, which are even lighter and drop some unsprung weight from the car. The model will be available in Ice Cap and the trim-exclusive Blue Flame. Just 1,600 examples will be offered for the coming model year, and prices start at $44,740, which is $1,840 more than it did in 2023.
The wild and exclusive Morizo Edition, which was limited to 200 numbered units in the U.S., is no longer offered. It was initially available starting at a price of $49,900 for the 2023MY.
No matter which model shoppers choose, the GR Corolla comes with Toyota’s turbocharged, 1.6-liter, three-cylinder engine that makes 300 hp (224 kW/304 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque by utilizing motorsports technology such as multi-oil jet piston cooling and large diameter exhaust valves.
In addition, Toyota says it has performed a number of chassis tweaks to improve the car. That includes material updates to the mounting bolts for the steering gear, rear suspension, and the battery ground. In addition, it has added aluminum sheets to the front and rear bumpers, and changed the shape of a duct in the front bumper, all in an effort to improve the GR Corolla’s aerodynamics.
As before, it comes with an 8-inch touchscreen display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch instrument screen, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. In addition, buyers get a one-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association, which includes entry to a free one-day high-performance driving event.
Expected to hit dealerships later this year, buyers will also be able to choose from a wider array of Toyota Gazoo Racing performance parts. These include lowering springs and performance shocks, as well a Rear Sport Wing to give the GR Corolla an even more aggressive look.
