After his untimely passing earlier this year, the tributes to Ken Block were a testament to the influence his life and work had over the motorsports world. Cyberpunk 2077 has shown that the driver’s legacy extends beyond that world.
The game’s publisher, CD Projekt Red, launched its Update 2.0, which introduced new vehicles with mounted firearms on them, among other things. While almost all of the new vehicles require players to pay large amounts of in-game currency to own, one is available for free.
The Type-66 Hoon is a new vehicle equipped with machine guns that pays tribute to the dearly departed Ken Block. It features a fast-back roofline, big all-terrain tires, a lack of front fenders (the better to off-road with), and much more.

The name, Type-66 Hoon, is a reference to the driver, whose team, Hoonigan Industries, used the slang term frequently. Block’s most extreme cars, such as the Hoonicorn, frequently bore the name, and were featured in his Gymkhana videos.
In addition, the vehicle has a number of decals on it, such as the white number 43 on the back, which is a reference to Block’s racing number and was retired by the WRC in the wake of his passing. The car also has a number of decals on its doors, that make it look more like a rally racer.
Although the vehicle is free, players must still complete a quest to own it, reports IGN. In a video, the outlet reveals how easily the quest can be completed, though. It simply requires players to head to an empty warehouse (another potential reference to Block, whose Gymkhana videos frequently took place in empty industrial complexes), where the character Johnny Silverhand (voiced by Keanu Reeves) is waiting by the car. Although locked, players only have to search through a pile of garbage near the car to find the keys, unlock it, and drive away with it.
This marks the most recent homage to the driver, following his unfortunate passing in a snowmobiling accident back in January. Previously, liveries inspired by him were proudly displayed on racecars driven by close friends such as Travis Pastrana and his daughter Lia. It’s pretty cool that now Keanu Reeves has also been involved in a tribute to his life.
