A look through the classifieds shows that you can easily buy a C5 Chevy Corvette for between $15,000 and $20,000 in the U.S. So when we first came across this 2002 Corvette on Facebook’s Marketplace with a $35,000 price tag, we were a little shocked. However, a quick glance at the odometer provides some insight into the higher-than-average asking price.
Believe it or not, this Corvette has only been driven 828 miles (1,332 km) since new. No, your eyes are not deceiving you. This has to be one of the lowest-mileage C5s out there. While it does come with a price tag that’s double the going rate for most other C5s, it undeniably serves as a genuine time capsule.
The listing on Facebook doesn’t provide many details about the car but we have reached out to the seller to find more. In the meantime, we can see that the car is finished in a nice shade of silver and the exterior looks immaculate with no obvious signs of dents or scratches. It truly looks as though it has just rolled out of the factory. We can also see that the car is sitting on a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS tires, the same rubber that the C5 was originally sold with.

Much like the exterior, the interior of the car is immaculate. The black leather seats show very little signs of wear and don’t have as many creases or cracks as you may expect for a 21-year-old car. All of the other important surfaces and touchpoints, like the steering wheel, shifter, and center console, also appear to have been well preserved.
We don’t yet know if the car is in running order and if it has been started frequently while in storage. Nevertheless, found beneath the timeless body is a 5.7-liter naturally-aspirated LS1 V8 that was good for 350 hp back in the day. Sadly, this Corvette has the four-speed automatic rather than the six-speed manual.
