Update: We’ve added live images of Toyota’s electric concept study in our gallery below.
The Japan Mobility Show is underway and Toyota has used the event to unveil the new FT-3e concept. Looking like a sportier sibling to the Land Cruiser Se concept, the FT-3e features a fully enclosed grille and a slender light bar. We can also see an aerodynamic hood, which appears to direct air up and over the rakish windscreen.

Moving further back, there’s sculpted bodywork and flush-mounted door handles. They’re joined by a floating roof and a blacked out rear pillar, which helps to visually expand the greenhouse. The concept is also notable for having exterior displays, which show battery information and the cabin temperature.
The rear end looks like a futuristic take on the bZ4X and it has a distinctive rear spoiler and a slender light bar that echoes the one up front. We can also see black accents and a pronounced diffuser.
Toyota didn’t say much about the concept, but the model has a minimalist interior with a single spoke steering wheel that is flanked by three displays. The digital instrument cluster is fairly conventional, but it’s accompanied by an electric shifter on the left and a media controller on the right. There’s also an infotainment system for good measure.
Little else is known about the concept at this point, but Toyota officials talked about their desire to meet diverse customer needs. As a result, their auto show lineup had something for everyone.
