Derived from the recently launched Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, this all-new Commercial variant unveiled at the CV Show 2018 is purpose-built with a focus on both practicality as well as convenience.
For starters, its interior has been designed to accommodate sizable loads. A look inside reveals a six-inch bulkhead and a completely flat floor with bonded carpet, behind the two front seats. Buyers will also enjoy opaque rear side windows.
In total, the load area offers around 1,500 liters (52.9 cu.ft), while towing capacity is over 3,100 kg (6,834 lbs). Power comes from a 181 PS (178 HP) 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine, which works alongside an all-new 8-speed automatic transmission and Mitsubishi’s Super Select II all-wheel drive system.
It’s not all work and no play
The Shogun Sport Commercial is based on the top-of-the-range Sport 4 spec. Standard features include leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable and heated front seats, power folding mirrors, LED headlights, taillights and DRLs, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, privacy glass, automatic headlights and wipers, headlight washers and the Mitsubishi Power sound system with additional tweeters and a 510W amplifier.
As for convenience and safety features, it benefits from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, a 360-degree view camera, rear parking sensors and the Ultrasonic Mis-Acceleration Mitigation System, which uses the front parking sensors to halt any accidental sudden acceleration when obstacles are detected.
Mitsubishi will reveal pricing and other details regarding the Shogun Sport Commercial in the near future.
