Russia’s Lada Vesta SW And Vesta SW Cross Arrive In Europe, Pricing Starts At €11,990

AvtoVAZ is expanding its operations in Europe by launching two additional Lada models in certain markets.

The Vesta SW and Vesta SW Cross have already landed in Germany, Austria and Hungary, and will launch in Slovakia, Serbia and Bulgaria by the end of April.

Joining the Lada Vesta Sedan, the two estate derivatives are available in two trim levels, Comfort and Luxe. The automaker has yet to release full details about them, but pricing starts from €11,990, or $14,673 at the current exchange rates.

In comparison, the base Dacia Logan MCV starts at €7,990 ($9,778) in Germany, with a 75PS (74hp / 55kW) petrol engine. The Logan MCV Stepway can be had from €12,300 ($15,053), with a 90PS (89hp / 66kW) unit.

Europeans looking at the two Vesta SW models will have to settle for a 1.6-liter petrol engine. It meets the Euro 6 emission standards, generates 106PS (105hp / 78kW) and 148Nm (109lb-ft) of torque and works together with a 5-speed manual transmission.

With a dry weight of 1,280kg (2,822lbs), the Lada Vesta SW needs 12.4 seconds to hit 100km/h (62mph) from a standstill and can reach a top speed of 174km/h (108mph). The Vesta SW Cross is 0.2sec slower to 100km/h (62mph) and maxes out at 172km/h (107mph). The average fuel consumption is 7.3 l/100 km (32.2 US mpg / 38.7 UK mpg) and 7.5 l/100 km (31.4 US mpg / 37.7 UK mpg), respectively.

In Russia, customers can also order the 1.8-liter unit, with 122PS (120hp / 90kW) and 170Nm (125lb-ft) of torque, which is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The only differences between the two Vesta SWs are the plastic cladding and jacked-up suspension added to the Cross, and some trim revisions inside.
