We’re just over a month away from the very first Cybertruck deliveries and a new video demonstrates what those owners can do with their shiny new toy. Shot at Hollister Hills SVRA, videos show Cybertruck release candidates playing in the dirt. It’s a dramatically different look for the pickup compared to all we’ve seen of it on the road.

People across the country are shooting quick videos and photos of the Cybertuck but this appears to be the first film of one on a real off-road obstacle. In fact, there are three Cybertrucks in the videos below and all work to tackle something called ‘the stairs’ in Hollister Hills SVRA near Monterey, California. That’s roughly an hour from Tesla’s design headquarters in Palo Alto.

In the video, we see one finishing the obstacle and then slowly making the turn to head back down the hill. Another Cybertruck begins its ascent not long after that. Both trucks appear to be in their highest suspension setting and would likely be in “Off-Road Mode.” While we can’t confirm that, it would appear likely given what we’ve seen the testing team do on far less challenging terrain.

What’s not up for debate is that the Tesla Cybertruck appears to take its sweet time coming up the stairs. Compared to other SUVs and trucks that have gone up the same undulating surface on video, first posted by stretch_thecj2l on Instagram, the Cybertruck is a bit slower than most.

At the same time, the team is testing here so for all we know they’re validating some system that keeps the Cybertruck stable even at low speeds.

Rocketing up a challenging bit of trail like this is sometimes easier and even safer than trying to do it slowly. It’ll be interesting to see where real third-party Cybertruck owners take their vehicles once deliveries begin on November 30th.

Will any be bold enough to try and conquer more serious obstacles at a place like Moab? We can’t wait to find out. We just hope somebody films it. Here’s another look, a clearer one, at what the stairs look like.
