Sometimes the slowest Grand Theft Auto chases are the most fun. While arming yourself with the rapid Vapid Pißwasser Dominator might give you a great chance of outrunning the cops, it’s fun to challenge yourself by strapping into something totally unsuited to the task, like a semi. A tractor-trailer combo is certainly slow, but it’s not easy for the authorities to stop.
That’s what police in Texas learned when they responded to a call about an 18-wheeler driving erratically on Highway 59 and Highway 242 in Montgomery County. The driver appeared to be rocking the steering wheel from side to side causing the cab to shimmy, though that was soon way down the list of things the cops wanted to talk to the driver about.
That’s because the driver of the truck refused to stop, taking authorities on a two-hour chase across multiple counties, during which he performed a 180-degree turn in the middle of a five-lane freeway when he realized that the road ahead was blocked by traffic. Later, he drove through city streets on the wrong side of the road, racking up at least four crashes with innocent drivers who simply happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, though fortunately no one was killed or injured.

Houston agencies, including tactical and air units, were all deployed in an attempt to stop the driver, Fox26Houston reports. Video footage of the aftermath shows the two front wheels of the truck having no tires, police telling Fox’s news team that the semi ran over spikes “four or five times” and also had its tires shot.
The driver turned out to be 51-year-old Christopher John Lubowski from Ormond Beach, Florida, who now faces federal charges of felony evading and possession of methamphetamine and is unlikely to be back behind the wheel of a semi any time soon.
