With 755HP, Is The 2019 Corvette ZR1 Too Much To Handle?

There’s a new king in the Corvette land and is none other from the all-new 2019 ZR1.

Throughout its history, the Corvette ZR1 was defined by its really powerful engines, especially in the more recent iterations and the same appears to apply here.

How else are you supposed to approach a Corvette that packs seven hundred and fifty-five horsepower? However, and unlike the recent past of the nameplate, GM claims that the new Corvette ZR1 is more than capable of harnessing this power, both on track and on road.

The bonnet has a huge hole in the middle in order to give space to the tall supercharger of the 6.2-liter V8. The numbers are staggering: 755hp, 715lb-ft of torque, 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds and a quarter mile in 10.6 while top speed is 212mph. Add the track pack which ups the downforce generated from the bodywork and the top speed drops to 202mph.

In addition, the new 2019 Corvette ZR1 is probably the only car of this caliber that is still available with a manual transmission. An eight-speed automatic is an option, which will all know most customers will opt for.

Clearly the 2019 Corvette ZR1 offers stunning value at $123,820. The only rivals we can think off are those German rear-engine sports cars in their GT3 RS and GT2 RS versions but the price difference between the Corvette and the Porsches is huge.
