Lamborghini has made some incredibly powerful sports cars over the course of its history. A couple of SUVs, too. But this one is somewhat more… shall we say, agrarian.
It has just one seat, two cylinders, and all of 18 horsepower. It’s located right here in the United States. And it can be yours for about the price of a new Audi S3.
If you couldn’t tell from the photos, you might have guessed by now that this Lambo wasn’t made by Automobili Lamborghini. It’s from Lamborghini Trattori, the agricultural equipment manufacturer from which the exotic automaker stemmed.
The Lamborghinetta Was Ferruccio’s Favorite
Smaller than some of the more powerful work machines Ferruccio made, this 2241R is of the “Lamborghinetta” series. They featured the company’s first in-house engine, and were said to be the founder’s favorite. Little wonder that it was just this kind of machine that pulled Ferruccio’s flower-covered coffin to his funeral after he died from a heart attack in 1993. He was just 76 years old at the time of his passing. And he hadn’t been in control of either of the manufacturers that bear his name for a couple of decades already.
Fully restored and painted in its original orange and blue livery, the 1960 Lamborghini 2241R tractor is listed for sale on JamesEdition. LBI Limited out of Philadelphia is asking $45,000 for it – or just about a fifth of what a new Huracan will cost you.
Of course, it won’t manage the kind of speeds for which Lamborghini’s supercars are known. But it just may be the perfect addition to the collector that already has all the sports cars old and new that he (or she) could want.
