An issue with the headlights of 2015-2024 Lamborghini Huracan models in the United States has prompted the car manufacturer to issue a recall for 7,805 examples across the country.
The recall reveals that Huracan models manufactured between July 30, 2014, and October 30, 2023, sold in the United States, have a function on the infotainment system that allows for the headlights to be adjusted for left-hand driving, known as tourist mode. In addition, the notice reveals that the adaptive front-lighting system may have been adjusted outside production specifications for the U.S. market.
The problem for Lamborghini is that according to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, the headlights of a car are not permitted to have any horizontal adjustment. Lamborghini has traced back the issue to a wrong rule implementation in the vehicle’s infotainment software.
Product inspections carried out in Japan first identified the irregularity of available headlight functions on November 15 of this year. Lamborghini continued to investigate the abnormality over the ensuing two weeks and on November 30, decided to issue a recall.
Fortunately for the brand, as well as its owners, the recall does not necessitate any mechanical modifications. All that’s needed to fix the problem is an infotainment system software update that will deactivate the Tourist Mode and the adaptive front-lighting system, ensuring the Huracan complies with local safety standards.

Owners of impacted Lamborghini Huracan models will be alerted to the recall by registered mail and through the customer app.
The Huracan will soon be replaced after a long and hugely successful production run. Several heavily camouflaged prototypes of its successor have been filmed up-close in recent months and it is clear the car will look quite different than the Huracan, drawing significant design inspiration from the hybrid Revuelto. While it is bound to look the part, it will unfortunately ditch its predecessor’s 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 in favor of a twin-turbocharged V8.
