With an twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 at the front, rear-wheel drive and an open-top cabin in between, the Mercedes-AMG SLC43 could be the only ride a petrol head needs.
It’s quite agile, too, for a car originally launched in 2011 as the SLK, and since the SLC43 flavor replaces the SLK55, it’s quite nifty, too: it does the 0 to 100km/h (0-62mph) sprint in 4.7 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
Some have criticized the downsizing, after the most potent member of Merc’s small roadster family ditched the naturally aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine in favor of a smaller twin-turbo V6, which made it lose 55PS (54hp / 40kW) and 19Nm (14lb-ft) of torque on the way. However, the SLC43 is actually 0.1sec faster to 100km/h (62mph) than the older SLK55, and has a healthy 367PS (362hp / 270kW) and 520Nm (383lb-ft) of torque available on tap.

And it doesn’t look outdated, either, because the exterior design is in line with the rest of the automaker’s line up, and even if it lacks a dual-screen layout inside, drivers still get everything they need at their fingertips.
