It’s time to lace up your Air Jordans, don your Bulls jersey, and head to Bring a Trailer to place a bid on a 1991 BMW 850i that was once owned by basketball legend, Michael Jordan. For sale by only its second owner, the coupe has driven just 30,000 miles (48,280 km) in its 33 years on the planet.

Purchased new by the NBA star from Motor Werks of Barrington, in Illinois, the model is powered by a BMW 5.0-liter V12 engine, that made 296 hp (221 kW/300 PS) from the factory. Helping it breathe better is a MagnaFlow exhaust system.

This 850i is also equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, the clutch for which was replaced in 2017. That all makes this an attractive example of the 850i, even without the connection to basketball royalty.

Finished in a dazzling shade of Mauritius Metallic Blue, you can see in these photos that the color changes in the light. It is also equipped with AC Schnitzer modifications that the current owner claims were installed during Jordan’s time with the car. The bumper, hood, and front fenders have been refinished.

In addition to the modifications to the body, the 8-Series also sports 17-inch multi-piece AC Schnitzer wheels that are wrapped in fresh Continental ExtremeContact tires (235/45 front and 275/40 rear) that were mounted in 2023.

Inside, the BMW features Light Parchment leather seats with matching door panels. It also comes with dual-zone automatic climate control (though it does not blow cold), an AM/FM/cassette radio, and a trunk-mounted CD changer. Impressively, it also has driver seat position memory, a power-adjustable steering column.

With no accidents or damage on its CarFax report, low miles, attractive trim, and a connection to Michael Jordan, this 1991 BMW 850i will no doubt sell for plenty when the Bring a Trailer auction ends on Monday, January 8.
