The wait for Jeep’s very first dedicated all-electric model for global consumption is nearly over, as the company has announced that the new Wagoneer S will go on sale in the U.S. this fall through a new teaser campaign.
Although it will be available worldwide, including Europe, North American customers will be the first to experience the electric SUV, as sales are scheduled to commence in Jeep’s home market. Offered exclusively as a battery electric vehicle, the brand boasts that the Wagoneer S will provide drivers with standard all-wheel-drive, up to 600 hp (447 kW/608 PS), and a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of just 3.5 seconds.
That rapid acceleration is likely why Jeep has decided to focus on speed for its first teaser video for the SUV. Featuring slow-mo shots of hummingbirds, lightning, a cheetah, and other fast things, the ad reassures consumers that they won’t need to slow the Wagoneer S down to appreciate its beauty; they simply need to take the wheel.

Indeed, speed is a primary focus of the vehicle, with Ralph Gilles, Stellantis’ design chief, explaining that the ‘S’ in the model’s name represents ‘speed,’ ‘striking design,’ and ‘sexy.’ Despite this emphasis, Jeep has been slow to offer other details, and hasn’t yet confirmed whether the new Stellantis STLA architecture will underpin the model. Nevertheless, they have stated their aim for a driving range of 400 miles (644 km).
The brand hasn’t been in a hurry to reveal what the production Wagoneer S’s interior will look like, either. Although it shares its name with the highly luxurious Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, it’s actually a five-seater, not a seven-seater like those models. When it first teased the model in 2022, the brand’s CEO, Christian Meunier, said that the new model will still be impressive.
“We’ll delight our customers with a premium, highly efficient SUV that is loaded with technology and high quality craftsmanship, offering 4×4 capability, high performance, rapid acceleration and a target range of 400 miles on a single charge,” he said.
Expect to hear more about the Wagoneer S in the coming months as Jeep reveals more details ahead of the start of sales this fall.
