Dongfeng has opened the order books for its latest electric vehicle named the eπ 007, with prices starting at just 159,000 yuan (about $22,400 at current exchange rates), which appears to be quite a bargain for Chinese buyers. Additionally, early bird buyers will receive a special subsidy of 10,000 yuan (US$1,400) that they can apply towards colors, optional extras, accessories, or packages for their order.
The eπ 007 is a stylish four-door electric fastback with a sleek and aerodynamic design, boasting a low drag coefficient of only 0.209 Cd. Its front end resembles that of many other Chinese EVs, featuring slim LED daytime running lights and lower-positioned main headlamp clusters. The absence of a front grille is compensated by an angular crease that running across the width of the car.
Other notable elements of the design include flush-fitting door handles, slender LED taillights, and a retractable spoiler. Chinese customers even have the option to equip the eπ 007 with scissor doors inspired by Lamborghini. These scissor doors are available as part of a special optional package priced at 22,000 yuan (US$3,100) offered for the higher-end 620Pro and 540 Max models.
In terms of dimensions, the eπ 007 measures 4,880 mm (192 inches) long, 1,895 mm (74.6 inches) wide, and stands 1,460 mm (57.4 inches) tall with a 2,915 mm (114.7-inch) wheelbase.
Considering the car’s starting price, one might expect the interior to be stripped of creature comforts. However, that’s not the case. The center of the dashboard features a 15.6-inch infotainment display, while in front of the driver, there’s an 8.8-inch driving cluster that can flip around, a feature reminiscent of the McLaren 720S.

It also gets a comprehensive array of 38 sensors that enable various functions, including memory parking, remote control parking, and the company’s advanced driving assistance system.
