Ford has opened the doors to a new Vehicle Personalisation Center (VPC) in Thailand that will outfit vehicles bound for Australian shores with factory accessories soon after they roll off the production line.
The Ford Vehicle Personalisation Center is operated in partnership with Ford Australia and RMA Automotive and is located near the port for vehicles produced in Thailand and departing for Australia. The site is initially focused on fitting new Ranger models with the same Ford Genuine and Licensed Accessories that were previously only available from dealers in a move that should help to reduce wait times for Australia’s best-selling new vehicle.

Four accessories will initially be offered through the VPC; two different stylish canopies, a commercial canopy, and a manual roller shutter. The three canopies will work on all dual-cab Ranger models except for the Platinum and Raptor. All accessories will be backed by the firm’s five-year, unlimited-kilometer warranty and typically installed within two days of a vehicle leaving the factory.
“We know Aussies love utes and we have developed the most comprehensive factory-backed catalog of accessories ever, expanding the versatility of Ranger for our customers and allowing them to use their vehicle for work or for play with family and friends,” the vehicle personalization director at Ford International Markets Group, Michael Karageorgiou said. “The new VPC is the next step at giving our customers the customized vehicles they want, straight out of the box.”
Aussie buyers will be able to start ordering options to be fitted at the VPC from this month and the first vehicles with these options should arrive in May. In the future, the site will also build a variety of special edition Raptor and Everest models.
