All too often, tuners looking to make an audacious statement take run-of-the-mill SUVs and go over the top with modifications, creating something that would be best suited to a starring role in a Mad Max film. Larte Design has just released a new bodykit for the 2024 BMW X5, but it doesn’t venture into the world of the theatrical, looking closer to the styling upgrades BMW itself could offer.

The upgrade package, known as the Larte Performance kit, consists of 10 primary parts that give the exterior of the SUV a more aggressive and premium feel. The front end features new inserts for the large kidney grillles, a sharp splitter, and a bold new hood that would look right at home on an X5 M.

Larte notes that the hood has been designed with a “rainwater diversion system” so water doesn’t accumulate on it but quickly drains off. It also includes a pair of small intakes to aid in cooling.

Changes made to the sides are a little more subtle but include new wing mirror caps and distinctive side skirts. The tuner also offers plenty of different aftermarket wheel designs for the car ranging from 21 inches to 23 inches and costing roughly €8,500 ($9,174) for a full set.

We’re particularly fond of the SUV’s rear. Making it stand out are the twin-peak spoiler stretching out from the roof and the option of a small lip spoiler just below the rear wing. Owners can also choose between two different diffusers, one of which adds small LED brake lights. New tailpipes are also available and importantly, neither the diffuser nor the optional tailpipes get in the way of a factory-fitted tow bar.

Larte sells its bodykit for the BMW X5 in a traditional carbon fiber finish or a basalt fiber construction that can be finished in gloss black or painted to match the color of the SUV.
