As if the standard Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 wasn’t special enough, the carmaker quietly approached some of its most loyal buyers last year and offered them the chance to buy an even more exclusive version dubbed the Jailbreak. This is one of those cars.
Whereas 3,300 examples of the regular Demon 170 were built, production of the Jailbreak version was capped at just 40 units. The key difference with the Jailbreak is that shoppers were offered the choice of 40 exclusive colors for the car, consisting of 20 newer colors from the Dodge palette and 20 legacy colors. Dodge built just one car in each of the paint options, meaning no two examples are the same color.

The owner of this Demon 170 Jailbreak, as featured in the video from YouTube RacerX, opted for Panther Pink, a distinctive shade that Dodge offered for the Challenger in the 1970s. There’s no doubt that the color won’t appeal to everyone but in general, we’re fond of brightly-colored cars. While we probably wouldn’t personally order a car like the Challenger in pink, we respect the owner for not being afraid to make a statement. The silly bright yellow bumper guards have to go though.
A handful of exterior parts help to tone down the bright paint of the car. These include the black front splitter, the matte black roof, the wheels, badges, the rear spoiler, and the center part of the hood.
While speaking about the Demon 170 Jailbreak 170 last year, the carmaker described it as a “celebration of the ultimate ‘Last Call’ Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 shared with our most loyal muscle car customers.” Customers had to pay a $30,000 premium over the regular model, excluding any potential markups.
