Fiat has unveiled five intriguing concept cars that will spawn production versions in the coming years and be based around the same global platform.
The Italian carmaker’s new lineup was announced in a video featuring Fiat chief executive and Stellantis Global CMO Olivier Francois, presented from Ginevra, Italy. The first model from this line-up will be unveiled in production guise in July this year and a new vehicle will then launch every year until 2027.
The first of the new concepts presented is a city car slightly larger than the current Panda and has a design inspired by Fiat’s Lingotto building in Turin with an oval-shaped test track on the roof. As such, the city car sports plenty of oval shapes throughout its design, especially in the cabin with an oval-shaped dashboard, displays, and headrests. Plenty of recycled materials, including plastics and bamboo, are also found throughout. Fiat says this model will be offered with a host of different powertrains, including a battery-electric setup and with internal combustion engines.
Next up is a pickup concept. The Fiat Strada is the best-selling vehicle in Brazil and the marque believes it can replicate this success globally. Like the city car, the pickup has a retro, boxy shape and is said to combine fun and functionality.

A large fastback with a design very similar to the pickup concept has also been presented. It has been labelled as an “heir” to the Fiat Fastback and Fiat Tipo and may prove particularly popular in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. It has been joined by a slightly tweaked SUV version as well as camper derivative positioned as a “do-it-all vehicle” with rugged styling elements, a jacked-up ride height, and off-road tires.
“FIAT is a global brand with 1.3 million cars sold last year and solid leadership in many parts of the world,” Francois said in a statement. “We are in a global game and our next step will be to transition from local products to a global offer that can benefit all of our customers everywhere in the world. We are excited to share this glimpse into our future; a very near future actually, since the first car will be presented in 4 months during the brand’s 125th anniversary celebration. That car will then be followed by 1 new model every year.”
