Maserati has finally unveiled the new GranCabrio, the drop-top counterpart to the GranTurismo introduced in 2022. This 2+2 convertible is initially offered with the powerful Nettuno V6 engine in the Trofeo trim. However, the lineup is set to expand with the introduction of the fully electric Folgore variant in the near future.
Some may argue that the Maserati GranCabrio looks sexier compared to its closed-roof GranTurismo counterpart, owing to its convertible design. A standout feature is its fabric roof, which can be conveniently controlled via the infotainment display or through simple gestures. The roof retracts in a swift 14 seconds, even while cruising at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph).
Designed for optimal comfort, the soft top offers exceptional thermal and acoustic insulation and is available in five distinct colors: black, blue marine, titan grey, greige, and garnet. While much of the bodywork is shared with the GranTurismo, the GranCabrio boasts a redesigned rear deck that adds a unique touch to its aesthetic.

The same applies to the 2+2 interior. The digital cockpit comprises a 12.2-inch instrument cluster, an optional head-up display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and another 8.8-inch touchscreen for the climate controls. The model features a Sonus Faber audio system with 13 speakers in standard form, or up to 16 speakers in the optional 1,060-watt configuration.
To make the open-air driving experience more pleasant, Maserati equipped the GranCabrio with a standard neck warmer for the driver and the front passenger, offering three levels of intensity. Furthermore, there is an optional wind-stopper that reduces turbulence inside the cabin although it’s use is limited for a two-seater layout.
The pictured example of the Maserati GranCabrio combines a dark blue hue with a striking red upholstery for the cabin. Being the Trofeo spec, it comes with the sportier front and rear bumpers, plenty of carbon fiber garnish, and a set of multi-spoke alloy wheels finished in black.
V6 Power At Launch, More Powerful Tri-Motor EV Set To Follow
Under the hood lies Maserati’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine, delivering 542 horsepower (405 kW / 550 PS) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque in its most potent configuration. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Performance is slightly impacted compared to the coupe due to a weight penalty of 100 kg (220 pounds) for the convertible. Consequently, the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint requires 3.6 seconds, with a top speed of 316 km/h (196 mph).
It is safe to assume that the Trident brand will also offer the GranCabrio with the less powerful version of the V6 which is good for 483 hp (490 PS / 360 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. It has also been officially confirmed that there will be a fully electric GranCabrio Folgore, joining Maserati’s zero-emission lineup. This one is expected to share the tri-motor setup with the GranTurismo Folgore, producing a combined 751 hp (761 PS / 560 kW).
Maserati will announce pricing for the new GranCabrio Trofeo closer to its market launch sometime in the coming months. As with other convertible variants of sportscars and grand tourers, it is safe to assume that the GranCabrio will be slightly more expensive than the equivalent trim of the GranTurismo.
