A car carrier, transporting seven Teslas, including Cybertrucks, and four other vehicles, was involved in a serious crash that led to the closure of traffic in both directions on Interstate 25 near Colorado Springs. Two individuals sustained serious injuries in the accident.
The incident took place on Monday night, with police responding to find an overturned semi-truck along with several vehicles and debris strewn across the highway. A photo shared by Facebook user Jared Cass shows at least two Tesla Cybertrucks, as well as other electric vehicles, still strapped on to the trailer despite a portion of it being flipped on its side. The semi truck itself cannot be seen in the photo, and its make has not been identified.
The car hauler was the initial vehicle to lose control in the accident, according to the Colorado State Patrol’s statement to KKTV. The truck’s driver was traveling along the interstate when they struck a barrier on the right side of the road. This impact caused them to overcorrect, leading it to veer across the road and into opposing traffic.

Following the collision with the barrier on the left side of the road, the semi hit a Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Silverado. While the drivers of the Ford and the semi emerged from the incident unharmed, the teenage driver of the Chevrolet and their passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
In addition to the semi and the two pickups, a Mercury Grand Marquis and a Dodge Challenger were also damaged in the incident, though they weren’t directly hit by the semi. Instead, they were struck by debris.
While the condition of the vehicles aboard the semi’s trailer remains unknown, the Fountain Fire Department reported that the incident necessitated a “significant clean-up” effort. As a result, I-25 was closed for a total of 11 hours.
It is not yet clear if anyone will be charged or ticketed in the incident.
